What would you whisper as a wish for the dawning year?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 01, 2009:
As the optimistic pessimist that I am, any wish that I would have would not be followed by an amazing amount of hope, unless it was a modest, small wish, that I already knew would, all things being equal and following their path, occur.
That being said, my not-so-modest wish is....
I wish some real changes in this world could be made:
that Obama is actual change, not just another politician in a different message.
that people switch from oil to other fuels for reasons of bettering the planet, not just the cost at the pump.
that, perhaps, we can come together as a world community before our Mother decides to fix the problems we have created by wiping most of us out.
